Happy Fabric Friday! We hope you have enjoyed the holiday break! If you are just joining us Fridays is all about fabric. We have been discussing the different kinds of knit fabric! Today is all about mesh knit fabric. This fabric is a very lightweight fabric and it comes in many different prints. It has some of the texture that tulle has but it is more durable. It can withstand more wear and tear than tulle. You can recognize this fabric by how it’s woven. It’s loosely knit together making it somewhat transparent. Take a look at the examples of mesh knit. Do you see how there is spaces between the threads? When using this type of fabric it is important to change your needle so that the threads won’t be snagged and pulled out of place. Have you ever worked with mesh knit?
